A Part-Time Tech Person
Who Already Knows Your System

After your project launches, your system needs someone who understands how it was built. Our managed services retainer gives you dedicated hosting, uptime monitoring, and direct access to the developer who wrote your code — not a generic support ticket queue.

What it actually is

Not just hosting. A relationship with someone who knows your code.

Most "managed hosting" means your files sit on someone's server, and when something breaks, you open a ticket with someone who has never seen your code. That's not what this is.

What the retainer covers. Your site or app runs on dedicated infrastructure we monitor directly — not a shared pool that goes down when someone else's traffic spikes. We watch for errors, run backups, handle security patches, and keep things running. When something needs attention, you send a message and hear back from the person who built it.

Who it's for. Clients who launched a custom website, operations hub, mobile app, or integration with us and want to keep someone close to the codebase on hand. If you've ever had a developer build something and then gone silent — you already know why this matters.

Ongoing development. Most retainers include a monthly dev hours block at a reduced rate. Small fixes, content updates, new feature requests — scoped and turned around fast because there's no ramp-up time. Larger projects are quoted separately and you stay at the front of the queue.

What it replaces. The scramble to find a new developer every time something needs changing. The "can you help me figure out how this was built" conversation. The generic hosting plan that tells you nothing when your site goes down at 11pm on a Saturday.

What's included

Everything in a Managed Retainer

Scope varies based on your system — here's what every retainer covers as a baseline.

Dedicated Hosting

Your project runs on its own infrastructure, not a shared pool. We configure and manage it directly — no generic control panels or mystery outages.

Uptime Monitoring

We're notified before you are if something goes down. 24/7 monitoring with alerts routed directly to us — not to a queue we check on business days.

Security & Backups

Regular backups, dependency updates, and security patches applied on a schedule. If something goes wrong, restoration is fast because backups are current.

Direct Developer Access

Message the person who wrote your code. Questions, bugs, requests — you get a real answer from someone with full context, not a copy-pasted FAQ.

Feature Development

Monthly dev hours at a reduced rate. New fields, new pages, new workflows — turned around fast because there's no ramp-up, no "let me read through the codebase" delay.

Priority Turnaround

Retainer clients stay at the front of the queue. Urgent fixes are prioritized same-day. You never wait in line behind a new client engagement.

Is this right for you?

What Managed Services Solves

Most clients move to a retainer after launch — here's why it's worth it.

Without managed services

Your site or app runs somewhere, maintained by no one in particular. When something breaks, you're starting from scratch finding someone who can help — and they don't know how it was built.

  • Downtime you find out about from clients, not monitoring
  • Small changes require finding and briefing a new developer
  • No one watching for security vulnerabilities or expired certs
  • Every request treated as a new engagement — quotes, delays, ramp-up

With a managed retainer

One person manages, monitors, and maintains your system. They know the codebase inside out because they built it. Updates, fixes, and new features happen fast, with no ramp-up required.

  • Dedicated infrastructure we watch 24/7
  • Direct message to the developer who knows your system
  • Monthly dev hours for small changes at a reduced rate
  • Priority queue — you're never waiting behind a new project

Common questions

Managed Services FAQ

Straight answers about ongoing support and hosting.

What's included in managed services?
Dedicated hosting on infrastructure we monitor directly, uptime and error monitoring, security patches, backup management, and direct access to the developer who built your system for questions, fixes, and feature requests.
Do I need this after my project launches?
Every build ships with a bug warranty — 90 days for websites, up to 150 days for software. After that, managed services is the best way to keep your system healthy and growing without re-engaging from scratch every time something needs to change. Most clients move to a retainer after the warranty window.
How is this different from regular hosting?
Standard hosting puts your files on shared infrastructure with no-context support. With a managed retainer, your site or app runs on dedicated infrastructure we manage personally, monitored 24/7. When something needs attention, you message the person who built it — not a help desk that's never seen your code.
Can I add new features under the retainer?
Yes. Most retainers include a monthly dev hours block at a reduced rate. Small changes and updates are handled within that block. Larger features are scoped separately — you stay at the front of the queue and at a better rate than a new engagement.
What if I have hosting somewhere else already?
We can migrate your project to managed infrastructure during onboarding, or work with your existing setup if it meets requirements. We'll assess on the onboarding call and recommend the cleanest path.
Can I cancel the retainer?
Yes. Retainers run month-to-month with 30 days notice to cancel. We'll handle a clean handoff — full access to code, hosting credentials, and any documentation you need to move forward with another developer.
