WEBSITE DESIGN · OGDEN
Page one is still winnable up north.
Custom-coded sites for Ogden, Layton and the Weber and Davis corridor. Fewer agencies work this end of the Wasatch Front and most of the competition is still on a decade-old template — so the work that grinds for years in Salt Lake tends to pay off here in months.
01THE HONEST MATH ON A SMALLER MARKET
Fewer searches, but a far cheaper page one.
Search "furnace repair Ogden" or "roofer Layton" and the first screen is mostly thin directory listings and sites that haven't been touched since 2015. There are fewer searches per month than Salt Lake gets — that part is real — but there's also almost nobody defending the top of the page. A fast, properly structured site with real schema markup gives Google an easy decision, and one extra furnace replacement a month pays for the whole build.
Facebook is doing the job your website should
Plenty of shops up here run entirely off a business page. It works until the algorithm changes or the page gets locked, and none of that audience is yours. A search result is an asset; a feed post is a rental.
You show up in Ogden and nowhere else on your route
Layton, Roy, Clearfield, Syracuse and Riverdale are separate searches with separate map packs. If you drive there but have no page saying so, you're invisible to half the work you already do.
A directory listing is outranking your actual business
When nobody in a market has a well-built site, aggregators fill the vacuum and sell your customers back to you. Beating them here takes far less than it would down south — but it takes a real page.
It was built for a desktop nobody is using
Your customer is standing in a driveway, in a garage, or outside a shop on 25th Street with a phone in one hand. If the site takes six seconds and the number isn't tappable, that's the whole transaction.
02WHAT YOU GET
What ships, and why it ranks up here.
Pages for the Weber and Davis corridor
Ogden first, then the cities you actually drive to — South Ogden, North Ogden, Riverdale, Roy, Clearfield, Layton, Syracuse. In a market this open, each of those pages is a realistic first-page target on its own.
Built to beat a directory listing
LocalBusiness and Service schema, clean headings, a sitemap and Search Console from day one. Most of what currently outranks you has none of it, which is the fastest opening in the state.
Your first real site, if that's what this is
A lot of businesses up here have never had one. I'll pull the service list, photos and job history out of you in one conversation rather than sending a twelve-page content questionnaire.
Speed on an old phone, not a new laptop
Hand-written code, no page builder, tuned to score in the 90s on Core Web Vitals. Your customers aren't all on new hardware and the site has to be quick anyway.
Google Business Profile for the map pack
Set up as a storefront or a service-area business — whichever you truly are. For a 25th Street shop the map pack is most of the game; for a trade running routes out of Roy, the service radius is.
Click-to-call and a form that reaches you fast
The number tappable on every mobile screen, a form that hits your phone in seconds, and tracking so you know which city page produced the job.
A 90-day bug warranty
In writing. If something I built breaks in the first 90 days, it's mine to fix, not yours to pay for twice.
Everything in your name
Code, repo, domain, hosting, analytics — yours on final payment. No monthly fee to keep the site online, and no retainer you have to sign before the rankings are allowed to arrive.

04STRAIGHT ANSWERS
Questions people actually ask.
Do the math on your own job value rather than on search volume. Weber County produces fewer monthly searches than Salt Lake, but the results pages are far softer, so you can hold a top spot for a fraction of the effort. If a furnace replacement is worth a few thousand dollars to you, ranking for one city term and picking up an extra job or two a month covers the build inside a year. In a smaller market the wins are smaller and much easier to keep.
No. I'm in West Jordan and the studio is remote-first — about forty minutes down I-15, and I'll make the drive for a kickoff or a launch walkthrough. I'm not going to list a rented Ogden address to look local. What matters more is that you're talking to the person writing the code, not an account manager in another state.
Between $3,000 and $9,000 for a custom-coded site. Most Weber and Davis County projects land in the lower half of that range, because beating what's currently ranking here doesn't take twenty pages. The scope and the number are agreed in writing before any code exists.
If you're booked out for the season and turning work away, honestly, no — spend the money on a truck. The moment it flips is when you want to choose your jobs instead of taking what comes, or when a competitor starts showing up above you for the searches your customers make. Referrals still Google you before they call; a site's job then is to make you look like the obvious choice.
Faster than the same work would take in Salt Lake. Technical improvements and a properly set up Business Profile usually show movement in four to eight weeks, and city terms outside Ogden proper often come sooner because so little is competing for them. What I can't shortcut is reviews — those accumulate at the speed your customers leave them.
Yes. Code, repo, domain, hosting and analytics are in your name on final payment, with the deploy steps written down. There's no retainer required to keep it live and nothing gets held hostage. If you never speak to me again, the site keeps working.
